Can I use CHIDEM products whilst I am pregnant?
The only product that is not recommended to avoid during pregnancy is our Night Treatment Oil which contains 0.3% retinol. Except that, none of our products contain ingredients at levels which should cause concern during pregnancy or while trying to get pregnant. However, certain products contain ingredients such as essential oils that some women choose to avoid entirely during pregnancy. If you have any concerns at all we advise you to consult your GP or dermatologists and show them the ingredient list before using the product. Our ingredients lists are available on our website and we provide the formulation sheet with every order. During pregnancy we believe every woman should keep their skin moisturised at all times, and highly recommend using our My Deluxe Beauty Cream.
What is a Beauty Cream?
Beauty creams are face moisturisers. We named all our face moisturisers as Beauty Cream, as we believe our creams provide beauty to your skin by evening out skin tone, energising it and helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Where can I find my Unique Customer Code and what does it refer to?
With each order you are sent a card with your Unique Customer Code (UCC), an individual code signifying that you are now an integral part of this luxury brand. We store your orders, consultation answers, formulation sheets all under this code. We never ever share this confidential information with anyone elsewhere. At any time, if you would like to enquire any information on your formulation, personalised scent or any other concerns please email us quoting your Unique Customer Code so we can identify your details and ensure we answer you proficiently. Also if you would like to order the same personalised item, you wouldn’t have to answer all the questions again but just can quote back your UCC.
Is there any SPF in your moisturizers?
Our moisturisers do not contain sunscreen ingredients and we would recommend the use of additional sun protection. We recommend you apply a thick layer (0.5 grams) of SPF after cleansing and after applying your face cream in the morning.
Can I use CHIDEM Products on my children?
Our safety certification allows the usage of products for children who are over 36 months. Our highly nutritional and vitamin packed butters and oils treat your children skin and protect them against any free radical damage.
Please be aware that all our products are free from skin-unfriendly ingredients such as synthetic fragrance, pore-blocking petrochemicals, sulfate detergents, synthetic colours, parabens or other potential irritants. If your child has any particular allergies or skin conditions then you should first consult your GP or dermatologists and specify whilst ordering.
Does CHIDEM test on animals?
We do not test any of our products on animals. Our products are not tested on animals on our behalf by any third party. We are delighted to report that the European Commission has implemented a marketing ban on cosmetic products that have been tested on animals or contain ingredients that were tested on animals after 11th March 2013.
Is CHIDEM’s Bottles Recyclable?
The bottles we use are entirely recyclable, re-usable and can be returned to us to be re-filled. One great tip is to fill the spray bottle with olive or sunflower oil and rather than pouring the oil to the pan, spray it. This way you will reduce and control the amount of oil you use during cooking.
Is CHIDEM Organic?
Organic is a term principally used in relation to food where it has a clear and well-understood definition - the growing and preparation of food products without the use of chemical fertilisers, GM ingredients and chemical additives such as preservatives, colourings etc. Increasingly, organic is a term that is being applied to beauty products.
Our approach is to always stay transparent. We translate all our ingredients to English on our product description. The organic ingredients are identified with “*” and all the natural and/or naturally derived ingredients are identified with “**”. Most of the carrier and essential oils and active ingredients we use are organic, unless otherwise stated.
It is impossible to make skincare products using just essential and vegetable oils. It is in the area of the other ingredients necessary in skincare such as emulsifiers, stabilisers and preservatives that the term “organic” is harder to sensibly define. We are proud to state that all our emulsifiers and preservatives are food grade, and all derived from nature.
Does CHIDEM products contain preservatives?
Yes however our oil based products do not contain preservatives. All our oil formulas are blended with Vitamin E and Rosemary Extract to prolong their shelf life up to a year. Preservative is only needed when a water and oil emulsion is prepared and mixed to create a creamy texture. Our preservative has an eco-based formula, which could also be used as a food grade preservative.
Why are preservatives required?
Using a small amount of safe preservative allows you to use the product for up to 6-12 months when opened. Products can spoil when they're not preserved properly as we tend to keep our cosmetics in humid bathroom conditions. Preservatives are essential in most products (except balms and oils that are stable) to prevent damage caused by micro-organisms and to avoid contamination.
Where do you source your raw materials?
Some of the countries we source our ingredients are: UK, France, Bulgaria, Spain, Turkey, Switzerland, Holland, Sweden, Morocco, Egypt, Brazil, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Indonesia, Australia, Madagascar, Somaliland, Ghana, Albany, Zambia, Kenya, China, Nepal, South Africa, Chile, Philippines, India, Jordan and the South American Rainforest.
I live in Ireland and have problems with the postcode.
Since there are no postcodes in Ireland please add any four digit number as a postcode during the registration process. This will ensure that the order goes through.
Can I get an allergic reaction from CHIDEM products?
Although allergic reactions from CHIDEM products are very rare indeed, if you think you have suffered an allergic reaction, please stop using the product. It is possible to be allergic to pretty much anything including essential oils and other natural ingredients. Our products contain nut oils, and if that’s the case you might react to tree-nut oils. If you suspect you have sensitivity to certain oils we strongly recommend that you test a small amount of any new product on the inside of your elbow, before applying on to your face.
Are CHIDEM products non-comodogenic (non-pore blocking)?
Yes. Our products have been formulated to prevent clogging or irritation.
The pump on my product is not working, what do I do?
Occasionally an air bubble gets into the pump/spray and stops it working. Almost always the following method will clear the air from the pump/spray. Hold the bottle with the lid on and bang the bottle down against a hard surface two or three times. This will almost always clear the air bubble. If the problem persists please contact us at info@chidembeauty.com
Are CHIDEM products suitable for vegans?
We use Honey Extract in our beauty creams and serum mist. We are able to change our formulations to suit your need, so if you wish your products not to contain honey, please specify whilst ordering.
How long does it take to formulate, produce and deliver my products?
Production
The time to prepare formulations all depend on the complexity of the formulas. The products which are a part of our collections can take up to 10 working days to proceed with the production in the laboratory. If you are ordering a gift to a friend, we recommend ordering 15 working days in advance to ensure your products reach you in time. We never want to cause a disappointment.
We are proud to state that all our products are made in small scale measurements in a laboratory and not in a continuous operating manufacturing plant. Our production cycle is therefore longer but this is due to our in-depth analysis and the bespoke services we offer.
Delivery
Once your order is made, products are delivered to your door via DHL Express. This is the only delivery platform that we found unaffected due to Covid-19 disruptions. The delivery window of DHL varies from 2 working day up to 10 working days (India). If you are ordering from Northern Cyprus, it will ease delivery if you enter a Southern Cyprus Post Code whilst ordering.
My products smell earthy, why?
We never use artificial fragrances. The smell of your products purely reflects the natural synergistic smell of your ingredients put together. For example nut oils, especially Macadamia, can smell quite nutty. Cucumber and Olive oils also have a very strong smell. Nettle and Birch infusions also smell herby, but these are the natural smells of ingredients. We believe in embracing these smells rather than hiding it with artificial fragrances, that are proven to be skin irritating.
I don’t like the smell of my product. What shall I do?
Once a product is made for you, unfortunately we do not except any returns, unless there is a problem with its packaging, or has caused severe sensitivity (and is proven with pictures) on your skin.
